What to study

Crafting is shown as a machine at work rather than a progress bar: the Fabricator's tray folds out toward you, raw material sits on it in grey clumps, and twin blue lasers play over the surface along ruled green guide lines while the item is formed. The shot catches the one moment menus cannot show, the fabrication itself, and the machine's design does the communicating: open tray, emitters above, status dots down the frame, everything in the same white-and-orange Alterra industrial language as the lifepod around it. Frame at about 0:46 in the Gameplay Trailer (Steam). Caveat: the Fabricator's recipe menu is closed in this shot; no moment in either Steam video shows it open (see prep_note).
