What to study

The atom of Mini Metro, isolated by the trailer's own zoom: one hollow circle (a station), one sign (a train pictogram on a pole, borrowed from real platform signage), and one solid square (a passenger who wants a square station). Three glyphs carry place, service and demand, and the hollow/solid pairing is the whole grammar, fill means person, outline means destination. In the actual game this composition is never seen at this size; the trailer's staged enlargement is disclosed in the elements, and the keeper is cataloged because it is the clearest possible exhibit of the shape-coding the full map (mini-metro-0) depends on.
