What to study

Underwater, the visor admits it is glass. The same HUD furniture as the dry corridor, energy '83' with its tank pips, radar up-left, the orange wireframe map grown large and round up-right, missiles '095 / 095', is seen through bubbles, ripples and a blue-green murk that sits over the readouts as much as over the world. The environment is communicated by dirtying the interface itself rather than by adding an 'underwater' widget, and the beam selector at lower right has quietly grown to three hand icons as the arsenal has expanded. Frame at about 0:47 in the launch trailer (YouTube), pipeline candidate candidates/v0_0017.png at 46.55s.

  • circular radar at upper left
  • a large orange wireframe area map at upper right, rounder and more detailed than the corridor map
  • missile count '095 / 095' at right

  • bubbles and refraction ripples across the whole visor, the water is drawn on the glass, over the HUD
