What to study

The HUD is a helmet, not an overlay: every readout is bolted to the inside of Samus's visor, energy '99' and its bar hang from the top centre of the curved frame, the radar sits where a glance up-left lands, the orange wireframe map up-right, and missiles '013 / 015' down the right cheek. Combat happens inside that furniture: a Space Pirate takes a purple burst at centre while the arm cannon, low right, carries its own glowing charge stripes, so weapon state is read off the weapon and suit state off the visor. Frame at about 0:33 in the launch trailer (YouTube), pipeline candidate candidates/v0_0010.png at 33.03s.
