What to study

A recipe card that answers the only question crafting UIs ever really get - can I make it, and what will it cost me - in one glance: three ingredient lines with have/need fractions, and the energy price printed on the CRAFT button rather than discovered after the click. The grid sells the fantasy (an avocado chair sits two cells from the bed you are building) while the card stays a ledger. Frame at about 0:20 in the Release Date Trailer (Steam), a scene-change survivor (v1_0007 at 19.8s) inspected at full resolution in this run; the trailer zoom crop is disclosed in the elements.

Screen inventory

  • left, the craftable grid (the frame is the trailer's zoom into the panel, so the grid's left column runs out of frame): floor lamp, flower mirror, cat-ear mirror, the selected floral bed with its cursor, sofas, a vine shelf, armchair, coffee table, an avocado chair, a picnic blanket, a flower and a salad bowl
  • right, the Ingredients card for the bed: Plank 4/1, Cotton Fabric 4/2, Metal Plate 3/1 - stock against requirement for each line, all satisfied - with a pin icon and an X close at the card's top corner
  • the commit bar: a wide teal 5 (lightning) CRAFT button - crafting costs energy, priced on the button itself; a 23-energy readout peeks in at the top of the frame
