What to study
Neither sentence on this screen kills you by itself. LAVA IS HOT only declares a temperature, and BABA IS MELT only declares a weakness; the trap exists because the two rules combine, and the wide orange river at right is where they would meet. Baba Is You writes its hazard warnings in the same grammar as its controls - there is no skull icon, no red vignette, no 'danger' tooltip, just two plain statements the player is trusted to compose into a consequence. The layout teaches the reading order: the rules sit at left like a legend, the thing they describe fills the right half of the screen, and Baba stands between the text and its meaning. Breaking either sentence - pushing HOT away from LAVA, or MELT away from BABA - disarms the river without touching it.
