What to study

The goal and its guard are both sentences, and they are placed on opposite sides of the problem. FLAG IS WIN sits inside the island with the flag itself, while WATER IS DEFEAT waits outside with Baba - and the green ring between them is the whole puzzle: touching the water defeats you, so the flag might as well be on the moon. The design move worth studying is that the defence is not a lock with a key somewhere else; it is a rule that can be edited. The trailer's next shots show the follow-through - an IS FLOAT sentence being assembled so Baba can cross - but even this still frame contains the complete problem statement, readable in two lines of tiles. Colour does the filing: the WIN tile is the flag's own yellow, the DEFEAT tile is the only red object on screen, and the water's green matches its noun tile, so the eye connects each word to its referent without a single label or arrow. Frame at about 0:35 in the Release date trailer (Steam), a scene-change survivor (v0_0003).
