What to study
Tool upgrades presented like jewellery themselves: four stats as rows of diamond pips (the lapidary's own unit of quality), each showing its next value before you pay. The price is split honestly - coin for the work, Precious Metals by weight for the material, 100 g drawn from a 13.3 kg stock - and committing takes a deliberate hold on the mouse button, a small ritual against misclicks on a 250-coin decision. The roster's durability bars quietly advertise the loop: tools wear, so the bench is never finished. Frame at about 0:25 in the New fest PV-EN video (Steam), found by the dense 1-frame/2s review pass (the scene-change pass missed it) and inspected at full resolution in this run.

- left, the Tools roster with icons, per-tool durability bars and Quantity: Survey Torch, Point Chisel, Brush, Hammer, Gouge, Long-Nose Pliers, Nodule Sounding Hammer, Hand Drill, Shovel (highlighted) and a second Survey Torch below the fold
- centre, the Shovel card: a one-sentence job description ('Used to remove minerals with high toughness and low hardness over a large area') and four stats as diamond-pip gauges with before -> after values - Handling Speed 4 -> 5, Max Durability 120 -> 240, Toughness Rating 3 -> 4, Break Efficiency 50% -> 60%
- right, the tool rendered large over the workbench, and the price card: 250 coin plus Precious Metals 100 g / 13.3 kg (cost against stock), committed with a Hold to Upgrade mouse prompt - upgrading is a hold, not a click
- wallet bottom-left reads 212,922; build stamp 0.2.6 10/15/26, 6:04 AM
