What to study
The Challenges screen trusts names to do the work that other games give to stat blocks. Thirty scenarios are a single column of titles, Housing Bubble, Russian Concrete, The Gold Must Flow, each one a small joke or premise the player can guess at, with no difficulty rating, reward or par to argue with the guess. The only number on the screen is the player's own: 'Completed 1/30' under the header, progress stated as a count rather than a percentage or a bar. Even the panel stays out of the way, translucent over the mode's Mars-and-turbines artwork, so choosing a challenge feels like browsing a programme, not configuring a match. Frame at about 0:21 in Beyond Surviving Mars (Steam; manual extraction, the panel is composited over the planet backdrop in a held shot the scene-change pass did not isolate).

Screen inventory
- the header reads 'CHALLENGES' with 'Completed 1/30' directly beneath it, progress for the whole mode is one counter, with no bar, stars or per-item percentages
- eight challenges are legible as plain names in a single column: Housing Bubble, Earthbound, Founding Fathers, The Gold Must Flow, Baby Steps, City Building, Russian Concrete, The Means of Production; a ninth, 'Hello, Neighbors', fades at the panel's lower edge where the list continues
- the panel is translucent blue laid over the mode's own artwork, a Mars globe to the left, a row of wind turbines to the right, so the list floats on a picture instead of closing the screen down
- there are no difficulty, reward, score or time-limit columns: each challenge is presented as a title whose name alone implies its premise
