What to study
Starbound's dialogue never leaves the scene: a small bubble with a portrait and one line of text floats over the room, tail pointing at the speaker, while the library and both characters stay fully visible. Compare the bottom-bar dialogue of most RPGs, which takes the screen over; here the conversation is an annotation on the world, sized so the room itself remains the subject. No trailer caption is burned into this frame. Frame at about 2:15 in the Starbound 1.0 Launch Trailer (Steam).
