What to study

A HUD that stays out of the festival's way: one dark circular minimap top-left, two party portraits bottom-left, and the combat verbs (Lock-On, Parry, Dodge on SHIFT, pistol on E, horse dash on Q) as quiet text and round buttons at the right edge. Nothing frames the view; the prompts sit where thumbs already rest, and the gold chevron on the minimap is the only saturated HUD color against the square's balloons and bunting. The civilian covering her face is the moment the HUD is built for: the reveal lands in-world while the controls wait, unchanged, at the edges. Frame at about 27.5s in the gamescom 2026 Special Trailer (YouTube). The frame carries a small in-development footage disclaimer at the foot.
