What to study

The game's second layer, and its most distinctive screen: Incognita, the hacking AI, renders the facility as a top-down network grid, a black field ruled with teal wireframe tiles, where every device is a red monolith tagged with its firewall count. The player agent appears as a yellow wireframe hologram on a highlighted tile, and hovering a node opens the HACK tooltip: 'HACK Power Supply / FIREWALLS: 2 / Use INCOGNITA PROGRAMS to break. / EQUIPPED: LOCKPICK 1.0 / BREAKS 1 FIREWALL, COST: 2 PWR', the whole hacking economy (firewall strength, program, power cost) compressed into four lines. What makes it worth studying is the colour contract: red means hostile infrastructure, yellow means the player's presence, teal is the neutral grid, and the tooltip's plain language does the tutorialising, no separate help screen is needed. Frame at about 0:30 in the Invisible, Inc. Launch Trailer (Steam), a manual extraction from the 1 frame/2s dense scan, the scene-change pass missed this shot entirely. Flaws disclosed: the trailer letterboxes this shot with black bars top and bottom, and the frame is a mid-action still, the agent hologram frozen mid-step, but the grid, nodes and tooltip are settled and fully legible.

Screen inventory

  • the network grid: a black field ruled with teal wireframe tiles, the facility redrawn as Incognita's abstract hacking layer
  • red firewall monoliths across the grid, each tagged with a numbered badge (1 or 2) marking its firewall strength, joined by dashed red links
  • the player agent as a yellow wireframe hologram standing on a highlighted tile, the only yellow element on the field
  • right, the HACK tooltip panel: 'HACK Power Supply', 'FIREWALLS: 2', 'Use INCOGNITA PROGRAMS to break', 'EQUIPPED: LOCKPICK 1.0', 'BREAKS 1 FIREWALL, COST: 2 PWR'
  • black letterbox bars top and bottom, the trailer presents this shot wider than 16:9
