What to study
Afterlife's headline system, skill drafting, starts here rather than in combat: before a run, the game asks you to pick a secondary profession from the full roster, Assassin through Ranger, each row carrying only an icon and a name. That restraint is the design lesson — the choice is a build decision, not a stat comparison, so the panel stays a clean list with a scrollbar instead of a spreadsheet, while the persistent HUD underneath (target bar, compass, HP and energy skill bar) keeps the character you are building visible behind the decision. It is the classic Guild Wars dual-profession idea reframed as a run starter: the panel you see is the moment a run's possibility space gets set. Frame at about 35s in the Afterlife Announce Trailer (Steam). Pre-release trailer footage; the DLC launches January 13, 2027.

Source details
Fetched 2026-11-04. verified 2026-11-04: frame inspected visually at full resolution; 'Choose a secondary profession to begin', all seven profession rows, Lvl 20 Pinion target bar, compass, HP 510 / energy 20 skill bar all legible; manually extracted because the scene-change pass skipped this segment (same failure mode as the ETS2 Coaches dense scan)
