What to study

This is the settlement sim's planning language in one shot: designating a zone paints a green grid over the ground, the brush tile glows brighter than the rest, and a tooltip states exactly what the zone is (Carrot Field), how big it is (2 x 1), and what it costs to plant (2 Carrot Seed). Settler name labels and their day/night pies sit on the same screen, so the zone tool and the workforce that will work it are read together. Frame at about 0:20 in the Going Medieval - Fortified Early Access Trailer (Steam), taken from the dense 1-frame-per-2-seconds filmstrip rather than the scene-change set. Disclosure: no trailer burn-in, captions, or subtitles are visible in this frame.
