What to study
The same Tactics book one second later shows why its condition system can express real tactics: opening a slot fans out into three cascading menus, from who (Self, Ally, Enemy, or a named companion) through what state (health, buffs, armor type, range) down to whose attacker (Attacking Alistair, Attacking Morrigan, and so on). The depth is the design lesson and the warning at once: a player can encode genuinely specific behavior, but only by drilling through nested lists that cover half the book. Timed extraction made during audit (scene detection had surfaced only the closed-rows state); no caption burn-in on this frame. Frame at about 1:30 in the GamePlay video (Steam).
