What to study

The mission briefing as a contract: the left panel tells the story (Baton Rouge behind them, New Orleans ahead by riverboat) and shows the five gang portraits, while the BADGES panel prices replayability in seven challenges, two already earned (free Kate or Hector first, an environment kill of three guards) and five still greyed out, from a no-save run to a 17-minute speedrun. The hand-drawn map on the right, with its red circle around the riverboat on the Mississippi, makes the mission a place before it is a task, and the DIFFICULTY and PLAY buttons keep the whole screen one press from starting. Frame at about 324.2 s in the Desperados III Explanation trailer (Steam). No trailer burn-in; the only chrome is in-game UI, including the console button prompts and the build version string.
