What to study
The rebuilt multiplayer's front room, and a small masterclass in staging information: everything a host must decide is on one screen, grouped by kind. People on the left, a roster where each row packs a ready check, a name, a faction badge (gold GDI, red Nod), a colour and a slot number, with the chat living underneath because negotiation is part of setup. Place on the right, the selected map as a card with its start positions dotted onto the thumbnail and its mode, player count, climate and size as plain facts, above the full map catalogue as a sortable table whose every row (Name, Climate, Size, Players) is a complete alternative. The four tabs across the top (Skirmish, Quickmatch, Join, Host) make the screen one of four sibling rooms with a shared layout, and the greyed Start button is the lobby's whole validation model in a single control: the match cannot begin until the room is legal. It is classified faction-select here because the roster's real work is faction/colour/slot assignment before battle; the catalog has no dedicated lobby type. Frame at about 2:20 in the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection Official Reveal Trailer video (Steam), a manual extraction (probes/v1-probe-140.0.png at 140.0s, copied to the workdir root as multiplayer-lobby.png); the scene-change pass caught this screen only as it glitched in (candidates/v1_0033.png at 137.37s, an earlier map selection tearing), so the settled probe is the keeper.

Screen inventory
- across the top, the four mode tabs, Skirmish, Quickmatch, Join, Host, with Host lit, so the screen's job (staging a match) is chosen before any detail below it
- left, the player roster as an invite table: an INVITE header, 'cncmarket3' checked in with a gold GDI badge, colour swatch and slot number 1, 'AI: MEDIUM' with a red Nod badge at slot 2, then two OPEN SLOT rows, faction, colour, readiness and vacancy all read from one row per player; a chat pane with a SEND button fills the roster's lower half
- right top, the chosen map as a card: a thumbnail of Northern Explosion dotted with six start-position circles, and its facts as a label/value list, Mode: Destroy Structures, Players: 4, Climate: Winter, Size: 62 x 62
- right bottom, the map browser under Official / Custom / Rules tabs: a sortable table (Name, Climate, Size, Players), King of the Mountain, Lakefront Clash, Lost Arena, Marooned, Monkey in the Middle, Moosehead Barrens, the highlighted Northern Explosion, Nowhere to Hide, every row a complete match proposition
- the Tiberian Dawn green-on-steel skin throughout, with Start greyed bottom-right until the lobby is valid, the screen's one disabled control quietly stating the room's rule
