What to study
Cogmind talks to the player the way its machines talk to each other: through a terminal window. The transmission frame is titled like a protocol, the speaker is tagged 'Revision 17' in a version-tab on the border, and the single question 'Who are you?' is printed over a dim rain of binary that never stops being the background. There is no portrait, no name plate and no voice-acting cue, identity in this world is a build number. The design lesson is restraint: by keeping the dialogue inside the same green monospace system as every other screen, a story beat costs the interface nothing new, and the still-visible map at the right edge keeps the conversation feeling like something happening inside the run rather than a cutscene interrupting it. Frame at about 0:24 in the Alpha Trailer (Steam; manual extraction, the transmission window holds between the trailer's cuts).

Screen inventory
- the window is a terminal frame, not a speech bubble: a green box whose top border carries the spaced title T R A N S M I S S I O N, and a bright green tab on that border reading 'Revision 17', the sender is identified the way a file version would be, not by a portrait or a name plate
- the message itself is one short line, 'Who are you?', in the same bright green as the frame, typed over a field of dim binary digits that fills the window behind the text, the lore arrives as data first and words second
- the window does not cover the world: at right, the ASCII map stays visible mid-conversation, tan # walls, grey punctuation-glyph robots and items, a pink heart-shaped glyph and the blue @ of the Cogmind, so the transmission reads as an overlay on a live tactical situation, with a small green x at the window's lower-right corner as its only control
