What to study
The editor's whole interface is a bottom bar: minimap and faction legend at the left, a category strip across the top of the bar, and a two-row tile palette below it, so building a room is pick a category, pick a tile, click the dungeon. The tooltip does the teaching the palette cannot: hovering the Alchemy Lab explains what it does and which unit it attracts, in one sentence, right where the cursor already is. The ROOMS banner at the right is the only large text on screen, a section label that doubles as a reminder of which palette is open, and the shield markers in the 3D view show where the room's defences will sit before anything is placed. Frame at about 142s in the Map Editor Tutorial (Steam).
