What to study
Every sale in Strange Horticulture is a diagnosis. Anne Wood's panel gives the player only her name, her portrait and her story, a cursed amulet she cannot remove, drawing the life from her, and the game mechanic is choosing which labelled plant from the shelves answers it. The chosen plant is presented back as evidence before anything happens: the pot, its handwritten 'Long Verecund' label, and a single Use Plant button, so a wrong identification is a deliberate act the player signed, not a misclick. The trailer's narration caption along the bottom ('Long Verecund to lift a curse.') is trailer dressing, not game UI; everything above it, bubbles, label, button, is the game's own interface. Frame at about 0:40 in the Release Date Reveal Trailer (Steam; scene-change survivor v1_0007).

Screen inventory
- the customer panel at right is headed by a simple name tab, 'Anne Wood', and her request arrives as three stacked speech bubbles in her own words: 'Help me!', 'The amulet.', 'I can't remove it and it's drawing the life from me.', the request is a symptom story, never a plant name, so the diagnosis is the player's job
- the answer the player has chosen sits in a green circular medallion at the bottom of her panel: a potted purple-flowered plant with its handwritten yellow label reading 'Long Verecund' tied to it, and a green 'Use Plant' button at right with the cursor already on it, committing to an identification is one explicit button, pressed while the customer watches
- behind the counter the shop's shelves carry the whole collection as individual potted plants, several with small yellow labels already tied on, and a white arrow at the shelf edge shows the collection scrolls, the inventory is the room itself
- the desk below the shelves is empty brown leather with a gold vine border: the book is closed for this beat, so the frame isolates the serve-the-customer half of the loop from the identify-in-the-book half
