What to study
Spiritfarer's conversation UI is a single speech balloon, drawn like the rest of the game. It is a cream card with a thin double-rule border and a short tail aimed at whoever is talking, and its only chrome is colour: a pair of quotation-mark glyphs sits on the top-left corner in the speaker's accent colour, here the deer spirit's dark red, and a small tab in the same red rides the lower-right edge with three white dots, the advance prompt. The text is one short line, centred, in an unadorned face, 'Well, you can cut it down.', a spirit giving Stella permission to fell a tree on her island. No name plate, no portrait, no backlog, no choice wheel: the game trusts the scene below the bubble, the deer leaning against the trunk with her arms folded, Stella and her cat looking up at her, to carry who is speaking and how it lands. The design choice worth studying is that the accent colour is the attribution system. Across the trailer the same bubble returns with its quote glyphs and tab recoloured per speaker and per place, teal in a night café, purple at one spirit's house, gold at the Everdoor (spiritfarer-4), while the card, type and layout never change. It is a dialogue system reduced to paper, ink and one variable hue. Frame at about 0:35 in the Farewell Edition Launch Trailer (Steam), manually extracted at 34.8s: the scene-change pass caught this bubble twice with the text not yet typed in (candidates/v0_0004.png at 34.10s, empty) or already dismissed, because the line types on within a second of the cut. No trailer burn-in is present in this frame.

Screen inventory
- the dialogue bubble: a large cream rounded rectangle floating over the forest, its tail pointing down at the speakers
- a pair of dark-red quotation-mark glyphs overlapping the bubble's top-left corner, the speaker's colour accent
- the line itself, centred in a plain dark typeface: 'Well, you can cut it down.'
- a small dark-red tab at the bubble's lower-right edge holding three white dots, the advance indicator
- below the bubble, the deer spirit leaning against a tree trunk, arms folded, antlers and ears dark red; Stella facing her in a star-shaped teal hat, one hand out; the white cat beside her with a glowing round bell at its neck
- the island forest around them: tall straight trunks, berry bushes, a wooden structure's roof at the far left edge
