What to study
The second phase, and the HUD marks it with a single word change: the boss plate's name line swaps to 'Chief Disciple's Fallen Hope' while the two-tier bar, the flask medallion and the weapon diamonds all hold their positions. Everything else about the phase is carried by the world - the arena's red grade, the boss's bladed wing - and by the loadout state in the bottom-right diamonds, whose sword counts (2 and 100) replace the opening's coiled weapon. A phase transition expressed as a rename and a recolour, with the interface as the still point: that restraint is the design statement of the whole fight. Frame at about 4:00 in the Year of the Snake Gameplay Trailer video (Steam), manually extracted from the pipeline-fetched video - the trailer's boss fight is one continuous take the scene-change pass did not sample. Pre-release footage (the game launches Oct 29, 2026).

Screen inventory
- the boss plate is renamed, not replaced: the name line now reads 'Chief Disciple's Fallen Hope' over the same two-tier bar at roughly half - the phase change is announced by typography alone, and the bar does not move a pixel
- the whole arena is washed red - the second phase is a colour grade over the same screen, not a new screen
- bottom-right: both weapon diamonds have changed - sword icons with numeric counts (2, with a purple charge dot, and 100): a different loadout state from the opening frame's coiled weapon
- bottom-left: the flask medallion (5 / 3) and the twin bars sit exactly where they were in phase one - the player's identity cluster is untouched by the transformation
- the boss hangs mid-air trailing a huge red-black bladed wing, the loudest shape in the frame - and the HUD's response is to stay precisely as quiet as it was at the opening
