What to study
Northgard's whole strategy layer on one screen, and the design lesson is density without a menu: the top bar carries ten resources with their rates, the left column carries the rival standings, and the selected territory answers for itself in the bottom panel, building slots as fractions (5/5, 2/5, 2/2), its people as job counts, and the next decision ('Develop Zone for 100') as a single priced button. Even the cursor is an analyst: hovering the lake zone prices a mercenary raid (2 Mercenary, 24 food of loot, 40 krowns of cost) in a three-line tooltip. The winter warning under the date (801 AD, September) is the game's clock made visible, in Northgard the season is a resource. Frame at about 0:22 in the Celebrating Northgard (2024 Trailer) (Steam), a scene-change candidate (candidates/v1_0007.png at 22.17s); the frame is completely free of trailer captions and graphics.

Screen inventory
- top, the full economy in one bar: happiness 3.3, food 153 +11, wood 587 +5, krowns 80 -1, stone 30, iron 18, population 28/28, 4/4, fame 73/500 and lore 332/320 +21 picked out in green, every stock with its rate, no screen trip needed
- top left, the clan and standings column: STAG with 310 fame, then the rival chiefs Bjorn, Keld and Asger, each tagged [AI: 1] [NoOrder] in red, the diplomacy state read at a glance
- left, the event notification as a green toast with a map icon: 'Your Sailors have explored a new zone!', exploration reports itself in the HUD, not a modal
- centre, the cursor tooltip over the blue-highlighted lake zone: 'Raids composition: 2 Mercenary / Loots: food 24 / Cost: krowns 40', a raid priced before it is launched
- bottom left, the calendar strip, 801 AD, September, 'You should prepare for winter.', over the minimap, which draws every zone's icon (skull, shield, crossed markers) and the current view wedge
- bottom centre right, the selected zone's panel: building slots 5/5, 2/5, 2/2, its workforce as named jobs (Woodcutter x2, Sailor x2, Villager x1) and the 'Develop Zone for 100' button with the cost in red; far right, the Warband / Civilians portrait roster over 'Organize a Feast' and the BUILD [B] button
