The Aspects are beings born from a symbiosis of the organic and the mechanical, suffused with a coral growth that connects them all. Coral is sacred to them: it grows on their bodies and everywhere they live, linking them to a gestalt mind that lets them communicate and reach consensus.

A builder-diplomat faction whose power radiates from its coral network. Invest in the spread of coral and the spiritualist Aspects can support themselves even outside friendly territory — while coral in other empires' lands quietly buys diplomatic leverage.
Living coral grows across the map, supporting Aspects cities and units outside friendly territory.
Coral in another faction's territory improves diplomatic dealings — major factions become more likely to accept deals and peace treaties, and minor factions are primed for assimilation.
